Quicksilt privacy policy

Who we are. "Bulldozer Studios", "we" and "us" mean Pratik Abichandani, an independent developer trading as Bulldozer Studios. Bulldozer Studios is not an incorporated company; Pratik Abichandani is the data controller. Contact: support@bulldozerstudios.com.

The short version: you don't need an account, a name or an email address to play. The campaign and AI matches run on your device. The game sends data off your device when you play online (ranked, 2v2, co-op and The Long Shadow), when ads are shown, and when you buy something. We don't sell your personal information.

1. On your device

Settings, campaign progress, energy and offline Long Shadow progress are saved on your device. Uninstalling the game deletes them.

2. Online play, multiplayer and leaderboards

When you go online, the game creates a random player ID and sends, over an encrypted connection: your player ID and display name; your faction, Task Force and commander rank; your in-match commands and results; your ranked rating and leaderboard scores; your Long Shadow territory claims; and your app version and platform. Our game servers process your IP address to connect you to matches and opponents and to pick a nearby server. Opponents and teammates see your display name, rank and in-match actions, and names, ratings and ranks appear on public leaderboards. We use match statistics and player reports to detect cheating and abuse. Inactive online profiles are deleted after 12 months, or sooner on request through the data request form.

3. Advertising

Quicksilt shows ads, including optional rewarded ads (for example to refill energy). Ads are served by Google AdMob and the ad networks it works with, which may process your advertising identifier, IP address and approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and ad interactions, to show, measure and cap ads and to prevent fraud (how Google uses data in ads). In the EEA, UK and Switzerland the game asks for consent before the first ad, and you can refuse personalised ads. On iPhone, ads are only personalised if you allow tracking when asked. On Android you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings › Privacy › Ads. You can opt out of personalised ads at any time in the game's Settings › Privacy.

4. Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google; we never see payment details. If we use a purchase-validation service, it will be listed here before launch.

5. What we don't collect

Contacts, precise location, photos, microphone, camera or browsing history. If we add chat, we will update this policy before it ships.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict how we use it. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To use these rights, email support@bulldozerstudios.com or use the data request form. We reply within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

Our games and website are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the "last updated" date, and update the App Store and Google Play disclosures before the change takes effect.
